An East Village micro wedding at 6BC Botanical Garden

Tara and Stephen live just across the river in Jersey City, but the East Village and the Lower East Side are the parts of New York that really mean something to them. So that’s where they wanted to get married.

No grand venue, no overproduced anything. They chose a tucked-away community garden on East 6th, their immediate families, two nephews, and their very dressed-up dogs. Tara walked in with one of the dogs, and a nephew handled the rings.

A note from Tara + Stephen

“I always hear couples say their wedding day flew by or that they were too overwhelmed to really enjoy it, and I feel so lucky that our experience was the complete opposite. I truly cannot imagine a more perfect way to have gotten married, and I cannot recommend Cakewalk enough. 10/10, absolutely no notes.”

Drinks, bodegas, and ice cream in the East Village

After family photos in the garden, the Tara + Stephen of them hit the neighborhood, starting with block shots down Avenue B.

They stopped at a neighborhood wine bar for a celebratory drink, made a bodega run (because of course), and grabbed ice cream. Then they took the subway over to Williamsburg, where dinner with the family was waiting.

Get married however you please.
